FishVille Concept – Difference Between Strategy and Tactics

So what is the difference between strategy and tactics? How can we apply this knowledge in playing FishVille? We are not going into a full debate or discussion on this but we’ll try to explain it in as concise and as easily understandable as possible.

The best way to explain these 2 concepts is by explaining it in chess terms. In other words, if you play chess, you should be able to grasp them quickly. In chess, strategy is the overall plan on how to checkmate the opposing king. Are you going to play defensively? Are you going to play offensively? Do you play an open or a close game? Yes, strategy is the big picture. On the other hand, tactic is the “how” of things. If strategy is the “what”, then tactic is the “how”. An example of well-used tactic in chess is “the fork”. This tactic involves attacking 2 pieces or more in order to gain an advantage whether be it in material or territorial form.

For those not playing chess, strategy is simply the bigger picture of things while tactic is how to attain that goal. Strategy is very much related to what your goals and objectives are and tactics are ways of doing things to accomplish that goal.

Now how do you relate this to playing FishVille? If your goal is to reach the highest level possible in the game, then your strategy would be to earn as much XP as possible in as little time as possible and your tactic would involve raising the fish that has the best XP returns per hour.
