FishVille Concept – XP per Hour

If you want to level up quickly in FishVille, then this is the most important concept that you should grasp and understand fully. Without this, you would like be a lost fish in the sea. XP per hour is simply that – how much XP a fish gains for you (as the owner) per hour. There are a lot of fish offered in the game with different amounts of XP gained and different lengths of time for it to become an adult. Some give you high XP returns but takes a long time to raise. Some give you low returns but grows quickly. We will combine this 2 things to create the XP per hour concept. Let us look at an example.

Take the Shy Hamlet and the Scooter Blenny as our examples. An adult Shy Hamlet (age 4 or greater…) has a selling XP of 240 and takes 16 hours to become an adult. On the other hand, an adult Scooter Blenny has a selling XP of 1044 and takes 96 hours (4 days) to become an adult. From a quick glance, it seems that the Scooter Blenny is the winner because it gives you 1044 XP. But this is deceptive. The Scooter Blenny gives you less than the Shy Hamlet. Let us find out how.

All we need to do is take the XP of each fish and divide it by the total amount of time (hours) it takes for it to become an adult. Shy Hamlet has an XP/hour of 15 while the Scooter Blenny only has 10.88! So what does this all mean? It means that it is much more profitable to raise a Shy Hamley XP-wise. If you want to gain more XP in as little time as possible, the Shy Hamley is a better choice than Scooter Blenny. Let us take this example a step further.

The Scooter Blenny takes 96 hours to reach adulthood and give you the 1044 XP. The Shy Hamlet only takes 16 (with 240 XP). That is approximately 17% or 1/6th of the time of Scooter Blenny’s. If we normalize those figures by using 96 hours as the lowest common denominator, then we’ll need to multiply Shy Hamlet’s numbers by 6. We will come up with 1440 XP in 96 hours. Yes, the Shy Hamlet can give you 1440 XP in 96 hours compared to Scooter Blenny’s 1044 XP. That is 396 XP more! Of course you’d have to multiple that number again with the number of fish you have in all of your tanks.

To make things simple, all I’m trying to say is that fish with a higher XP/hr number are the ones you should raise to get the most XP possible.
